Rain washes out all track activities Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Rain washed out Friday’s track activities at Charlotte Motor Speedway, with the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 Truck Series race being postponed until 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Sprint Showdown – also originally scheduled for Friday night – will be run at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the winners of its three segments advancing to Saturday night’s Sprint All-Star race.

All-Star race practice is scheduled from 9:30 to 10 a.m. There will be no Showdown practice.

Charlotte’s William Byron will start from the pole in the Truck race, based on his fastest practice time Thursday. Chase Elliott and Austin Dillon will start on the front row of the Showdown.

Rain continues to be in the forecast Saturday, with a 50 percent chance for the All-Star Race’s scheduled 9:26 p.m start.
