Bristol race resuming
UPDATE: Bristol race resuming. It's on CNBC.
Rain continues to plague the Sprint Cup race this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.
A scheduled 1 p.m. resumption of Saturday night’s race was further delayed by a storm that started around 12:15 p.m. Sunday. The track was soaked by heavy showers and NASCAR has not announced any tentative new time for the race to be resumed.
NASCAR discontinued the race Saturday night after getting in just 48 laps between the originally scheduled 8 p.m. start and the 11 o’clock hour. The race is scheduled for 500 laps around Bristol’s short track of approximately a half mile.
Any Sprint Cup race has to reach at least the scheduled halfway point to be declared officlal.
