‘Fearless’ Stephen Curry turns in 40-point performance against Pelicans
It’s becoming impossible to go a week without talking about an incredible performance by Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry.
Still, many are heaping praise on the Charlotte native’s 40-point performance in Thursday’s playoff game against the New Orleans Pelicans – especially a clutch three-pointer in the final seconds of the fourth quarter that sent the game to overtime.
The point guard’s game-tying shot came during a 20-point comeback by the Warriors.
Curry’s first attempt in the final seconds bounced out. But the former Davidson College star got another chance after Marreese Speights got an offensive rebound.
“To make that shot shows everything that Steph is about,” Golden State coach Steve Kerr said after the game. “His confidence level is just off the charts. He's fearless. He wants every big shot.”
