The Carolina Panthers agreed to terms with 10 undrafted free agents, including a speedy receiver, a talented cornerback and two defensive ends.

Among the top names are former South Carolina receiver Damiere Byrd and former Clemson cornerback Garry Peters. The team also signed former Florida defensive tackle Darious Cummings and former Ohio State defensive end Steve Miller.

Peters was the highest-rated cornerback in the class according to the analytics site Pro Football Focus, but clearly NFL teams weren’t as high on him. Peters, who ran a 4.61 40 at the combine and only put up seven reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, went undrafted this weekend.

Byrd caught 68 passes for 1,265 yards in his career with the Gamecocks. He ran a blazing 4.28 40 at his pro day, but the biggest knock on him was his size at 5-foot-9 and 162 pounds.

The Panthers also addressed their defensive line. Along with Cummings and Miller, the Panthers brought on former Southern defensive end Arthur Miley, who is 6-foot-6 and weighs 263 pounds.

Peters will be joined in the defensive backfield by former James Madison safety Dean Marlowe, who was first-team All-Colonial Athletic Association twice.

Carolina also signed former Utah linebacker Brian Blechen, former Memphis defensive tackle Terry Redden, former Morningside running back Brandon Wegher and former Michigan punter Matt Wile.

The team will also bring in 25-35 tryout players for this weekend’s rookie minicamp. The Panthers have 86 of their 90 available roster spots filled.
