The Carolina Panthers have finally signed their entire 2020 draft class to rookie deals.

Rookies reported to their first NFL training camp Tuesday.

The signings happened later than normal because of COVID-19, which temporarily put a halt to sports and closed all of the Panthers’ facilities. It also prevented most rookies from arriving in Charlotte until recently.

Derrick Brown, the Panthers’ first-round draft pick who got his deal done in May, was the only rookie the Panthers signed far in advance of camp. Yetur Gross-Matos, Jeremy Chinn, Troy Pride Jr., Kenny Robinson Jr., Bravvion Roy and Stantley Thomas-Oliver all got their deals done this week.

The rookies who reported to camp Tuesday will be tested for COVID-19. They won’t be allowed in the facility until they have two negative tests taken 72 hours apart. Between those two tests, the players have to quarantine.

Test results are expected within 24 hours. After Friday, players will be tested daily for at least the first two weeks of training camp. If the positive rate drops below 5%, testing would move to every other day.

The Panthers are preparing the facility at Bank of America Stadium to hold its first training camp. Signs have been placed all around the outside of the facility with the conditions related to COVID-19 and requesting those with a fever or other symptoms not to enter. Having the facility accommodate an increased amount of players than usual while social distancing has resulted in adjustments from parking to turning meeting rooms into locker rooms.
