Panthers’ Christian McCaffrey reaches top 10 in the NFL’s Top 100 list. Here’s how high

Madden NFL’s game makers think he’s one of the best. And so do his peers.

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey was voted as one of the top players in the NFL. He landed at No. 6 in the NFL Top 100 List, which was revealed Wednesday night.

Only Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Michael Thomas, Russell Wilson and Aaron Donald finished ahead of him.

This was McCaffrey’s second time in his three seasons making the list, which is voted on by other NFL players. In 2019, he was ranked No. 42.

“Unbelievable player,” Vikings fullback C.J. Ham told NFL Network. “Dude had 1,000 and 1,000.”

Last season, McCaffrey rushed for 1,387 yards with 15 rushing touchdowns, had 1,005 receiving yards and caught four touchdowns. He was the third player in NFL history to have 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same season.

“I would say his biggest attribute is he doesn’t have a weakness,” Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott told NFL Network.

“Yep,” Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett agreed. “And it’s crazy because everybody knows that the gameplan is ‘CMac, give him the ball.’ And we still couldn’t stop one of his touchdowns in London.”

McCaffrey was the only Panthers’ player to make the 2020 list. Luke Kuechly, who retired this past offseason, would have been ranked No. 43 had he returned in 2020.

In 2019, the Panthers had four players, including Keuchly (No. 24), McCaffrey (No. 42), Gerald McCoy (No. 75) and Cam Newton (No. 87) make the list.

Stephon Gilmore, a Rock Hill native and cornerback for the New England Patriots, landed at No. 9.
