Familiar faces
This offseason the Panthers traded guard Trai Turner to the Chargers for left tackle Russell Okung. This will be the first time five-time Pro Bowler Turner is facing his former team.
Along with Okung, the Panthers also have former Chargers guard Michael Schofield and tackle Trent Scott. Why so many former Chargers on the Panthers’ roster?
Panthers offensive line coach Pat Meyer held the same position with the Chargers. Many of his former players joined him out east.
Records to watch
The Panthers have not started a season 0-3 since 2010. The team has started 0-3 only three other times (1995, 1998, 2009).
The Panthers have zero sacks this season. At no point in the team’s history have they failed to record at least one sack over a three-game stretch.
For the first time since 2016, the Panthers will play a game without running back Christian McCaffrey.
Robby Anderson has recorded 100-plus receiving yards in each of the first two games. The last Panthers receiver to do so in three straight games was Steve Smith in 2008 (four straight).
This will be the Panthers first game in Los Angeles since a Nov. 2016 13-10 win over the Rams.
