Panthers rookie DT Derrick Brown’s fiancée gives birth to couple’s second child
Panthers defensive tackle Derrick Brown has welcomed his second child.
Brown’s fiancée Tayla Main gave birth to a baby girl, Kenzley Rae Brown, Wednesday morning.
“Our little girl joined our family early this morning,” Main wrote on Instagram. “We couldn’t be more obsessed! We love you so much baby girl!!”
Brown, 22, had an excused absence from Wednesday’s practice to be there for the birth. The couple has a son named Kai, who will be 2 in December.
The Panthers rookie proposed to Main in July.
A seventh overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft and former Auburn player, Brown purchased a house in Charlotte for his family during the offseason.
Brown could have come out of college a year early and been selected early in the 2019 draft, but he elected to remain in school another year so he could graduate, which he accomplished in December 2019.
“Best decision of my life,” Brown said of remaining at Auburn for a fourth year. “I got my degree in hand and I was a top-10 pick. Can’t ask for much more in this life.”
So far this season Brown has eight tackles, including four tackles for loss, and two passes defensed.
