The Carolina Panthers’ Week 17 game at the New Orleans Saints was moved (or “flexed) last week from the 1 p.m. time slot most NFC South home games use to 4:25 p.m on FOX (That means the game will be on WJZY if you’re in Charlotte.).

The move wasn’t to give the Saints and Panthers a bigger audience — according to the broadcast map, this is the NFL game of the week that will likely be available to the fewest households — but to get more eyes on the Ravens-Rams game, which has significant playoff implications.

The Panthers, meanwhile, were mathematically eliminated from the playoff race last week with their loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

New Orleans still has a 37% chance to make the playoffs, according to FiveThirtyEight. To reach the postseason, the Saints must win out (they’re at the Falcons next week), have the 49ers and Vikings each lose at least once and the Eagles lose twice (at Washington, home vs. Dallas).
