Like so many other skill position players in the NFL, Robbie Anderson is following the single-digit trend and switching his jersey from No. 11 to No. 3 for the upcoming 2022 season.

Anderson has worn No. 11 each season of his six-year career but will make the switch entering his third season with Carolina.

On Monday, the Panthers updated their official roster with jersey numbers for returning veterans and new free-agent signings. Along with Anderson, quarterback P.J. Walker and defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon are also changing their number. Walker will switch from No. 6 to No. 11 while Nixon goes from No. 94 to No. 54.

New addition receivers Andre Roberts and Rashard Higgins will be Nos. 18 and 17, respectively, while running back D’Onta Foreman will be No. 33. Punter Johnny Hekker will continue wearing No. 6, which has been his number for all 10 years of his NFL career.

New guard Austin Corbett will wear No. 63. Center Bradley Bozeman is No. 56. The Panthers also signed offensive tackle Wyatt Miller and undrafted tight end Jared Scott, who participated in rookie minicamp. Miller will wear No. 67 and Scott is No. 43.

NFL players have been switching jersey numbers more frequently since the league changed its number rules. Last April, the league began allowing running backs, receivers and tight ends to wear any number between 1 and 49, and any number between 80 and 89.

As a result, DJ Moore switched from No. 12 to No. 2 last season.

Other notable number changes around the league include Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook switching from No. 33 to No. 4. Lions receiver DJ Chark will also wear No. 4. Ravens second-year receiver Rashod Bateman is switching from No. 12 to No. 7.
