Panthers-Seahawks inactives: Henry Anderson to play for first time since minor stroke
Carolina Panthers defensive end Henry Anderson will play in his first game since suffering a minor stroke when he lines up against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Lumen Field.
On Saturday, the Panthers activated Anderson from the non-football illness list.
Anderson, who told reporters that he had a minor stroke in October, will play in his first game since Week 6. In order to add Anderson to the roster, the Panthers waived cornerback Tae Hayes.
Anderson will join a pass rushing rotation headlined by starters Brian Burns and Yetur Gross-Matos. Marquis Hayes Sr., a hero in the Panthers’ Week 12 win against the Denver Broncos, will also work into the rotation. Amare Barno is also active.
While Anderson will join the fray, safety Xavier Woods (knee) and linebacker Cory Littleton (ankle) will be held out of action due to injury. Both Woods and Littleton were among the four players listed as “questionable” heading into the weekend. Defensive tackle Matt Ioannidis (calf) and safety Myles Hartsfield will play against the Seahawks despite receiving “questionable” designations.
On the flip side, the Seahawks will be without rookie running back Kenneth Walker III — the team’s leading rusher — at Lumen Field. Walker was listed as “questionable” entering the matchup with an ankle injury. The Seahawks also won’t have backup running back DeeJay Dallas.
