Panthers’ pick tracker: Carolina’s first-round selection finalized for 2023 NFL Draft
The Carolina Panthers’ 2022 season is officially finished, and all focus has now shifted to the future of the franchise.
Although the future of the coaching staff is unclear, the Panthers’ first-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft has been finalized. The Panthers will have the ninth overall selection in this year’s draft after posting a 7-10 record during the regular season.
Along with the ninth overall pick, the Panthers also own their original second-, fourth- and fifth-round picks.
In October, the Panthers acquired second-, third- and fourth-round picks from the San Francisco 49ers in a trade centered around running back Christian McCaffrey. In total, the Panthers enter the offseason with seven draft picks.

First round: Ninth overall (CAR)
Second round: Two selections (CAR, SF)
Third round: One selection (SF)
Fourth round: Two selections (CAR, SF)

▪ The Panthers traded their original 2023 third-round pick in a deal with the New England Patriots during April’s draft to move up to select quarterback Matt Corral.
▪ The Panthers traded their original 2023 sixth-round pick to the Patriots in 2021 in a deal for cornerback Stephon Gilmore.
