The season ended earlier than expected for Carolina Panthers running back D’Onta Foreman.

Foreman was ejected from the team’s Week 18 season finale against the Saints after punching New Orleans defensive end Marcus Davenport early in Sunday’s third quarter. Carolina trailed 7-0 at the time Foreman was ejected.

Both players were flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct and ejected. Davenport struck Foreman first with a hand to the facemask after the two were tangled up following a Foreman rushing attempt.

Foreman, who entered Sunday 154 rushing yards short of 1,000, finished the game with 67 yards on 12 carries.

He ends the season with 913 rushing yards. Before Week 6, he had just 37 yards. His 2022-23 season total is the ninth-highest in Panthers franchise history.
