Panthers announce rookie minicamp roster, featuring sons of two former Carolina players
The Panthers announced their rookie minicamp roster on Friday just before the start of the three-day camp.
First-round pick, quarterback Bryce Young, and second-round pick, wide receiver Jonathan Mingo, were able to take part in the camp despite a lack of finalization on their rookie contracts. The other three draft picks — DJ Johnson, Chandler Zavala and Jammie Robinson — have signed their rookie deals.
Along with the draft class, the Panthers added 12 undrafted free agents ahead of the workout.
The team also hosted several tryout players, including wideout Austin Proehl and linebacker Gavin Greene. Both players are sons of former players. Proehl is the son of former wideout and receivers coach Ricky Proehl. Greene is the son of Hall of Fame pass rusher Kevin Greene.
Despite previously being listed as an undrafted free-agent addition by the Panthers, the team announced former Arizona State pass rusher Travez Moore as a tryout player on Friday. Former UNLV linebacker Austin Aijake, who was also announced as an undrafted free-agent agreement after the draft, was not present on the roster announcement.
