Kick off the Carolina Panthers season with The Charlotte Observer and Mike Rucker

The Charlotte Observer will be joined by former Pro Bowl defensive end Mike Rucker to talk about his career with the Panthers, the 2003 Super Bowl run and his thoughts on this year’s team.

Observer reporters Scott Fowler, Mike Kaye and Alex Zietlow will also preview the upcoming season and provide insight into the team ahead of the season start at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery & Biergarten in Ballantyne at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 5.

What will the Panthers look like under new coach Dave Canales and GM Dan Morgan? Can Bryce Young take a big step in year 2? How competitive can fans expect the team to be this season?

Tickets are currently $10.

All ticket proceeds from the event will go towards the Best Defense Foundation, a charity founded by Donnie Edwards in 2018 that Rucker devotes time to.

The Best Defense Foundation honors and celebrates our veterans from past conflicts, including, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and those who have recently retired. This Foundation is driven by volunteers–people who are passionate about supporting military veterans and their families. To date, the Foundation has taken over 100 WWII veterans on Battlefield Return Programs to remember their fallen comrades and gain closure of a time in their life that had an impact on the world.
