Former Panthers QB Cam Newton to star on a different but no less grueling field of play

Former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has a new starring role, this one on a different but similarly harrowing field of play.

GET READY,” Newton said with a red exclamation point Friday on X, the former Twitter. His post included a minute-and-a-half FOX TV video clip previewing season three of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.”

The season premiere is set for Wednesday, Jan. 8.

The five-episode series stars 16 celebrities, also including actor Stephen Baldwin, actress Denise Richards, TV personality and DJ Brody Jenner, Olympic gymnastics gold medalist Jordyn Wieber and original “Bachelorette” Trista Sutter, Show Biz Junkies.com reported.

“Celebrities endure some of the harshest, most grueling challenges from the playbook of the actual special forces selection process,” TV Insider reported.

“The recruits will face harrowing ocean warfare tests and rigorous land challenges designed to push them to their limits,” Ace Show Biz.com reported.

Including Newton, one of the Panthers’ all-time greats.

Selected No. 1 by the team in the 2011 NFL Draft, Newton led the Panthers to their second Super Bowl appearance, in 2015.

Newton was released after the 2021 season and launched a media career with multiple ventures. In October, he joined “First Take,” ESPN’s flagship morning show, as a regular contributor.

Newton does a voiceover in the FOX “Special Forces” video, quoting a quote.

“There’s a famous quote that says, in order to get something that you’ve never had, you gotta do something that you’ve never done,” Newton says.

So definitely no footballs and in-your-face linebackers involved.
