The Carolina Panthers hung tough with one of the best teams in the NFL last week — courtesy of a confident Bryce Young and an improving pass defense.
But it’s worth having the conversation:
Should the Panthers be concerned with the performances turned in by their rookies against the Philadelphia Eagles? Even if the class has done well in pockets of the year?
Charlotte Observer reporters Mike Kaye and Alex Zietlow answer this pair of questions in the latest episode of Processing Blue, The Observer’s all-things-Panthers podcast. As with all such queries, context is key — and history and stats help give perspective to the rookie class’s trials and triumphs.
Kaye and Zietlow also talk about the Panthers’ second-year quarterback — who stacked another good week against the Eagles — and discuss what’s next for the Panthers now that Jonathon Brooks is done for the year.
