Q. You got engaged Monday (to longtime girlfriend Cierra Perry). You had to do it before camp, right?

A. Of course. I saw Fozzy (Whittaker get engaged) and I’m like, man, you beat me to it. So had to get it going a couple days after that. I got it going and yeah, I definitely wanted to do it before the season. My fiancee, she deserved it. I just wanted to do it then.

Q. How did you propose?

A. I did it at Romare Bearden Park downtown at the waterfall. I acted like I was taking a selfie. I was messing up the pictures and she’s going nuts, like, ‘Why are you messing up our pictures?’ And I just got down on one knee and asked could she marry me? She said yes. I mean, who wouldn’t?

Q. How about the ring?

A. I bought the ring last December, so I knew I was going to do it. It was the plan of when I could do it, when was the perfect time. The ring, she loved it. So I’m happy she’s happy. And when she’s happy, I’m happy.
