The scoop: Horton registered three sacks and 26 tackles last season after seeing time in all 16 games as Carolina looked for a replacement for Greg Hardy. Frank Alexander and Mario Addison have held down the first-team reps at right defensive end with Kony Ealy getting the majority of second-team reps. Horton needs to make some noise in the first two exhibitions to secure a spot on the final roster.
