Three questions with Carolina Panthers FB Mike Tolbert:

Q. How deep is this team?

A. We’ve been in training camp for almost a week and this is the best that I’ve seen this team as a whole – offense, defense and special teams – since I’ve been here, and this is my fourth season.

Q. I’ve noticed you all still have nicknames even though DeAngelo Williams is gone. What’s the list of nicknames for the running backs this year?

A. LEEEEE! That’s kind of how we call Lee (Ward). Fozzy (Whittaker), we call him Captain America. He’s a huge Marvel fan. (Jonathan Stewart) is Stew. He’s a lowkey cat. Soulja Boy, who is Cameron Artis-Payne. We were at Dairy Queen and the lady was like, ‘Oh he looks like Soulja Boy,’ and I’m like who, him? They come at random times. We haven’t named everybody but by the end of camp, everybody will have a nickname.

Q. How’d you enjoy your day off Tuesday?

A. I have two young ones so I sat at home, fixed the kids breakfast and pretty much sat on the couch and was Daddy Jungle Gym all day. My kids like climbing all over me. I enjoy having good times with them.
