Do the Jets represent a ‘trap game’ for the Panthers? And more on Processing Blue
They’re .500 for the first time since November 2021, and have a running back who’s breaking records, and a defense that’s stopping the run, and a quarterback who’s playing close-to-near perfect football.
It all begs the question:
What has gotten into these Carolina Panthers?
That’s what Observer writers Mike Kaye and Alex Zietlow were tasked with answering in the latest podcast episode of Processing Blue. To get at that question, the duo discussed what has made Rico Dowdle’s two-game emergence possible, what made Bryce Young so good against the Cowboys — and how the Panthers’ 53-man roster will need to change to make room for soon-to-be activated injured reserve guys Jalen Coker and Austin Corbett, as well as starting playmaker Chuba Hubbard.
They also wonder aloud if the Jets, at 0-6, are a so-called “trap game” for the Panthers, who are winners of two straight but who haven’t won a road game this season. (Young, in fact, is 1-15 as a starter on the road.)
