NFL finalizes date and time for Panthers vs. Seahawks in Week 17 in Charlotte
The NFL finalized its schedule for Week 17, giving the upcoming matchup between the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks an official date and time at Bank of America Stadium.
Carolina will host Seattle at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28. The matchup on Mint Street had an open-ended date/time slate since the announcement of the NFL schedule in May.
The game will serve as the final regular-season home game for the Panthers in 2025. Carolina will complete the season on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a Week 16 rematch, which has yet to scheduled.
The matchup with Seattle will feature a couple of notable reunions. Panthers head coach Dave Canales — a longtime Seahawks assistant under former coach Pete Carroll — will face his old squad for the first time as an NFL head coach. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold will also return to Charlotte after spending two seasons (2021 to 2022) with the Panthers during the Matt Rhule era.
Bryce Young, who replaced Darnold in 2023, will look to upset his predecessor’s squad on his home turf. The Panthers are in the middle of a playoff push, and Canales’ crew can’t afford to take its foot off the gas down the stretch.
Entering Week 15, Carolina is 4-2 at home. The Panthers haven’t finished with a record over .500 at home since 2022.
The Seahawks lead the all-time head-to-head series with the Panthers, 11-5. Seattle has won four of the past five meetings with Carolina.
