Carolina Panthers

Four unrestricted NFL free agents Panthers must re-sign in 2026

The Carolina Panthers are getting ready to rearrange their roster during the 2026 offseason.

On the latest episode of The Processing Blue Podcast, Charlotte Observer sports columnist Scott Fowler and Panthers beat writer Mike Kaye discuss the team’s “must re-sign” unrestricted free agents as they await the open market. Kaye and Fowler each pick two veterans whom they think the Panthers should keep around among their 19 unrestricted free agents.

And in order to understand the importance of the upcoming business season, Kaye and Fowler take a look back at the good and bad of last offseason. Both writers discuss the moves they thought were stellar and the moves they thought were real stinkers, picking a “best” and “worst” in each category.

On top of all that, Fowler and Kaye discuss the ever-evolving NFL coaching landscape.

Will Carolina defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero get a head-coaching job elsewhere? How will former Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott’s firing as the head coach in Buffalo impact the six remaining openings? And what new trends seem to be popping in this year’s hiring cycle, in which 10 of the 32 NFL head-coaching positions are changing hands?

Fowler and Kaye break it all down.
