Carolina Panthers plan two training camp joint practice sessions. What we know
The Carolina Panthers plan to take part in two joint practices against AFC South opponents this summer.
The reigning NFC South champs have targeted the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans for joint practices prior to their respective exhibition matchups in August, league sources told The Charlotte Observer on Friday.
The plan is for Carolina to head to Jacksonville for a joint workout on Wednesday, Aug. 19, prior to the Friday, Aug. 21 (7:30 p.m.) preseason clash at EverBank Stadium, the league sources said. Similarly, the Panthers would host the Texans on Wednesday, Aug. 26 before the lone preseason game at Bank of America Stadium on Friday, Aug. 28 (7 p.m.).
The Panthers traveled to a joint practice in Houston last preseason before an exhibition matchup. They also hosted a joint practice with the Cleveland Browns last summer.
Carolina has typically taken part in at least one joint practice per summer in recent years. They hosted the New York Jets in the summers of 2023 and 2024. The 2023 joint practice was the last of the workouts to take place at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.
The NFL released its 2026 preseason and regular-season schedules Thursday. The Panthers will play in three primetime matchups. They’ll also host their first Week 1 home game since 2021.
Along with the planned joint workouts with the Jaguars and Texans, the Panthers will kick off their exhibition slate with a Pro Football Hall of Fame Game matchup against the Arizona Cardinals (Aug. 6) in Canton, Ohio. They’ll also face the Buffalo Bills at the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on Saturday, Aug. 15 (1 p.m.).
