Carolina Panthers CB Josh Norman still not out of concussion protocol

Panthers cornerback Josh Norman was still not out of the concussion protocol by Thursday’s practice, but Carolina is still hopeful he’ll be ready to go for Week 1 against Jacksonville.

Center Ryan Kalil was limited in practice but took the reps he had assigned to him. He should start Sunday.

Defensive tackle Star Lotulelei (foot) practiced both inside the facility and on the practice field Thursday. He’s still considered a long-shot to play.

Tight end Richie Brockel (shoulder) worked outside but he likely won’t be active for the game. And offensive tackle Nate Chandler’s surgically repaired knee flared up on him during Wednesday’s practice and he did not participate in Thursday’s practice.
