Panthers LB Luke Kuechly (ankle), as anticipated, misses Wednesday practice
As anticipated, Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly did not participate in Wednesday’s practice with an ankle injury, but he’s still on track to play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
Kuechly was at practice but not in a helmet and pads. Second-year left guard Andrew Norwell (hamstring) also did not participate and is likely to miss his second straight game.
Tight end Ed Dickson (quad), defensive tackle Dwan Edwards (ankle), center Ryan Kalil (ankle) and running back Jonathan Stewart (ankle) were limited at practice.
The Panthers had a light practice Wednesday. They played two long games in consecutive weeks – a combined 7 hours and 30 minutes of game time – and have three games in 11 days coming up.
“With that in mind knowing we came off a Monday night with five quarters and a game that was three-and-a-half hours, we most certainly had that thought,” Panthers coach Ron Rivera said. “We toned down practice. It was a little bit more than what we did last week (following a Monday night game) but a little bit similar to what we do typically on a Wednesday.”
