Cam Newton named NFC offensive player of the week
For the second time this season, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

— Carolina Panthers (@Panthers) November 25, 2015 Newton threw for a career-best five touchdowns in Sunday’s 44-16 win over Washington. He had 246 yards on 21-of-34 passing and finished the game with a season-high 123.3 quarterback rating.
The award is Newton’s fifth overall. He also won it in Week 9 after leading the Panthers to a 37-29 win against the Green Bay Packers.
Newton beat out Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie Jameis Winston, who also threw for five scores Sunday, for the honor.
Newton and his 10-0 Panthers travel to Texas to face the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day.
