Carolina Panthers sign former Oklahoma cornerback Zack Sanchez
The Carolina Panthers signed fifth-round pick Zack Sanchez on Thursday, leaving first-rounder Vernon Butler as the team's only drafted rookie not under contract.
Sanchez, the last of three cornerbacks drafted by the Panthers, received a signing bonus of $275,000, according to a league source.
Sanchez intercepted 13 passes over his final two seasons at Oklahoma, and is expected to get reps at outside corner as well as nickel back.
The Panthers begin their two-day rookie minicamp Friday in Charlotte.
More than 50 players − a group that includes draft picks, undrafted free agents, tryout players and other younger players on the roster − are expected to participate.
