Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is hosting a tailgate and food drive on Morehead Street Monday evening for charity.

The event benefits Loaves & Fishes and runs from 5 p.m-7 p.m., according to a statement from Charlotte-based Coca-Cola Consolidated, a co-host of the event.

During that time, fans are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to the Coca-Cola/WFNZ Doghouse at 401 W. Morehead St., a popular tailgate spot near Bank of America Stadium.

Monday night’s tailgate will feature Dickey’s BBQ, games, autograph signing with Olsen and Coca-Cola products. Everyone who brings a food donation gets a coupon for a 10-pack of Coca-Cola mini cans.

This is Olsen’s first time hosting this kind of event, a Coca-Cola Consolidated spokesman said.

Loaves & Fishes collects grocery items for families in need throughout Mecklenburg County.
