Panthers QB Cam Newton briefly injured against New England. Social media reacts

On the first possession of the Carolina Panthers’ NFL exhibition with New England Friday, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton scrambled to his right, sped up and dove for the first down.

He landed awkwardly on his head and neck. He fumbled. Christian McCaffrey recovered. And Newton left the game and went into a blue tent on the Panthers’ sidelines.

Newton came back a few plays later, but social media had a swift reaction.
