B.o.B., ‘Voice’ winner to perform at Panthers game

AP

Although the focus at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday will (obviously) be the game, a pair of well-known musical guests are scheduled to be on hand to keep the crowd engaged prior to kickoff and at halftime.

The Carolina Panthers confirmed Wednesday that Winston-Salem-born B.o.B. will perform at halftime of the team’s NFC playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks. The 27-year-old rapper is best known for his collaborations with Bruno Mars (“Nothin’ On You”), Hayley Williams of Paramore and Eminem (“Airplanes”) and Rivers Cuomo of Weezer (“Magic”).

B.o.B., who now lives in Atlanta, hasn’t been on stage in Charlotte since a show at the Label nightclub at the NC Music Factory in 2013.

Meanwhile, Jordan Smith – who last month won season nine of NBC’s “The Voice” – will sing the national anthem. The 22-year-old native of Harlan, Ky., has sold more than 1 million singles, making him the best-selling artist in the history of the reality TV singing competition.
