Charlotte officials urge pedestrians moving through uptown on Sunday – including those headed to the Carolina Panthers - Arizona Cardinals game – to be cautious as ice is still a threat, especially as temperatures drop later tonight.

With heavy traffic expected on Sunday for the Panthers' game, crews from Charlotte Department of Transportation, Engineering & Property Management and Charlotte Solid Waste Services worked through the night to clear sidewalks near Bank of America Stadium, the city said.

Clearing of streets and sidewalks will continue today, according to CDOT.

Black ice is still a potential threat throughout the region, and bridges are a special concern, according to CDOT, because freezing can occur there faster than in other areas.
