North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall is getting in on the Super Bowl betting game – with a twist.
Marshall suggested to her Colorado counterpart, Wayne Williams, that each state’s secretary of state office conduct a canned food drive, according to a news release from her office Monday. The food will be donated after the game – in honor of whichever team wins.
“No matter who wins the Super Bowl, we will be providing assistance to those in need in both states,” Marshall said. “I am confident that those donations will be made in honor of the Super Bowl Champion Carolina Panthers.”
The food will be donated to the Food Bank of the Rockies and the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina in each respective state.
