Charlotte school staffers to Panthers: Bring back ‘really big rings’
Over 50 staffers at Charlotte’s Sharon Elementary School really want the Carolina Panthers to bring home some really big rings on Sunday – championship ones, preferably.
To the backdrop of rapper Drake’s song “Big Rings,” teachers, support staff, student assistants and administrators form about five lines for a synchronized dance routine in the Foxcroft Road school’s auditorium.
Naturally, they’re sporting black, blue and white Panthers gear, and at least one in their number wields a sign that reads, “Go Panthers.” Their moves are coordinated, and there’s a lot of dabbing. The video caps with the group, their hands lifted, shouting “Keep Pounding.”
Principal Catherine Phelan said about three staff members came up with the idea and a third-grade teacher created the dance. The ensemble practiced their routine twice before a parent filmed it Wednesday.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools posted the video to its Twitter feed.
“Our staff likes to do little things like that. It was a lot of fun,” Phelan said. “Everybody just kind of jumped in.”
