The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the New Jersey Devils in Game 1 of their second round Stanley Cup playoff series on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C.

Hurricanes defensemen Brett Pesce and Brady Skjei both scored in the 5-1 victory.

Goalie Frederik Andersen was in the net for the opening game of the new series for the Hurricanes.
