No traveling Carolina Hurricanes fans were able to sneak a hat or two on the ice at the Prudential Center to commemorate Andrei Svechnikov’s hat trick on Sunday.

That doesn’t mean it went unnoticed.

A few dozen hats littered the lawn of Svechnikov’s Raleigh home Monday morning, a day after the Hurricanes’ 5-2 win over the New Jersey Devils in Game 4 to take a 3-1 lead in the series.

“Unbelievable, just unbelievable, you know,” Svechnikov said Monday. “I’ve got good neighbors.”

It was Svechnikov’s second career playoff hat trick, the only two in Hurricanes history. He also scored an empty-net goal in Game 1.

He also had some yard work to do after returning home from meetings at the arena on Monday.

“I saw it, but I didn’t pick them up,” Svechnikov said. “I was kind of snoozing still.”

The Hurricanes host the Devils in Game 5 on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Lenovo Center.
