Carolina Hurricanes announce 2015 preseason schedule

The Carolina Hurricanes announced their 2015 preseason schedule Wednesday, with all six games coming against 2014-15 playoff teams.

The club will start on the road, facing the Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sept. 21 and Sept. 22. Carolina will then travel north for a pair of neutral site games, against the New York Islanders on Sept. 26 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and the Ottawa Senators on Sept. 27 in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

The Hurricanes will come home Sept. 30 to host Washington at PNC Arena and will conclude the preseason slate at home on Oct. 2 against Pittsburgh.

Carolina owns the No. 5 overall pick in the NHL Draft, which will be held June 26-27 in Sunrise, Fla. Free agency begins July 1 at midnight.
