Charlotte Checkers game on Friday … for the players only

Because of worsening weather in the area and poor conditions in the Bojangles’ Coliseum parking lot, Friday night’s American Hockey League game against the Chicago Wolves has been officially closed to the public, the team announced in a news release just before 5 p.m. The game will be played as scheduled at 7, the team said.

Ticket holders can take advantage of exchange options released Friday by calling 704-342-4423 or emailing tickets@gocheckers.com during normal business hours. The exchange options are for 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 or Saturday, Feb. 6, or for noon Sunday, April 10.
