Saturday: Statewide North Carolina hunting season for gray and red squirrels, grouse, raccoon and opossum ends.
Saturday: Statewide North Carolina hunting season for quail and rabbit ends.
Saturday: Mountain trout season closes a half hour after sunset on hatchery-supported streams. They reopen April 4 after being restocked.
Sunday through April 30 (tentative): Striped bass season, Roanoke River.
Tuesday: N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission public hearing on proposed shooting range on the Linville Tract of the Pisgah Game Lands, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Municipal Auditorium, 401 S. College St., Morganton.

March 6-7: Coyote Trapping and Management Workshop, Webb Wildlife Center, Hampton County, S.C. Sponsored by the S.C. Department of Natural Resources, the workshop includes extensive hands-on instruction for setting traps, etc. Registration fee of $100 includes lodging and meals.
