March 27-29: 31st Annual Palmetto Sportsmen’s Classic, S.C. State Fairgrounds, 1200 Rosewood Dr., Columbia. Features appearances by celebrity outdoorsmen, large aquarium, hunting-fishing seminars, approximately 300 exhibitors/vendors. Hours are noon-8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Admission $8, seniors $7, children 10 and under, free. Sponsored by S.C. Department of Natural Resources. April 16: Top Shelf Fishing Festival For Wounded Warriors, Lake Norman, Pinnacle Access Area. A meal for the military veterans will be held at Berea Baptist Church. April 30 (tentative): End of striped bass season, Roanoke River.
