Quidditch World Cup in Rock Hill this weekend

If the extent of your experience as a Quidditch fan begins and ends with the “Harry Potter” movies, a visit this weekend to Rock Hill could be a real eye-opener.

On Saturday and Sunday, 80 club teams – mostly from colleges and universities across the country – will converge on Manchester Meadows Park for the U.S. Quidditch World Cup.

No wizards, no witches and no flying are involved, but otherwise the same rules apply. (Without getting too geeky, we’ll just say this: It’s like a mixture of rugby, lacrosse, tag and dodgeball.)
