The Hounds host the Cannons in a rematch of their Week 2 game – one that led to Charlotte’s first and only win this season. … The Hounds beat Boston 12-11 in overtime on April 26 in Foxborough, Mass., on Mike Sawyer’s goal with 7 minutes, 39 seconds left. Charlotte had led 11-6 with eight minutes remaining in regulation, but the Cannons scored five unanswered goals – the last by former Hound Josh Amidon with 35 seconds left – to force sudden-death overtime. … Charlotte has since lost three straight, including a 14-10 defeat to the Ohio Machine on May 16. … Boston snapped a three-game losing streak last week by edging the Rochester (N.Y.) Rattlers 17-16 on May 17. … Three Hounds players – Sawyer, Brett Schmidt and Jake Tripucka – all left last week’s game with injuries, and their status for Saturday is unknown. … To bolster their roster, especially on the offensive end, Charlotte made several moves in the past week. The Hounds acquired midfielder Shamel Bratton from the Major League Lacrosse player pool, traded a fourth-round pick in the 2016 collegiate draft to the Florida Launch for attacker Kevin Cunningham, and activated North Carolina attacker Joey Sankey, their second-round pick in the 2015 draft.
