Outdoors events calendar for 06.04.15

Thursday-Saturday: Bohicket Marina Invitational Billfish Tournament, John’s Island, S.C.

Saturday: NC Cats overnight catfish tournament, 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. High Rock Lake. Based at Dutch 2nd Creek access area. Entry fee $50 per boat. Information: Kevin Custer, 704-682-3614.

Saturday: Opening of Delayed Harvest trout season on 31 streams and two lakes in Western N.C. From 6 to 11:59 a.m. only anglers 15 and younger may fish. Waters open to all at noon under N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission regulations.

Monday-June 13: 57th Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, Morehead City.

Wednesday: N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission public forum on deer management in the state, 7 p.m., South Stanly High, 40488 South Stanly School Road.

June 10-12: Bass Federation tournament, Lake Norman. Southern Division event of Walmart League is based at Blythe Landing on N.C. 73 west of Huntersville. Information: bassfederation.com .

June 14: Student Angler Federation High School State Championship. Based at Blythe Landing. Information: highschoolfishing.org.
