Surprise! See you at the Olympics, Coach Marsh
David Marsh, head coach of SwimMAC Carolina, was officially named head coach of the U.S. women's swimming team for the 2016 Olympic Games last Wednesday.
Four days later, it really hit home.
Marsh’s team, family and friends surprised him with a celebration at the the lakefront Port City Club in Cornelius.
Marsh expressed gratitude and thanked his family and all the swimmers he’s coached over the past 34 years. That includes his current roster of Charlotte professionals and Olympic hopefuls with noted former Olympians such as Ryan Lochte and Cullen Jones.
Top female Olympic prospects include Cammile Adams and Micah Lawrence, as well as Charlotte’s Kathleen Baker.
