Jan. 7: N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission public hearing for District 6 on proposed changes to management plans, fishing regulations and game lands regulations for 2016-17, 7 p.m., South Stanly High School, 40488 South Stanly School Road, Norwood.

Jan. 15: End of final segment of S.C. dove season. Shooting hours are 30 minutes before sunrise until sunset.
