Jordan Spieth has picked up right where he left off at the Masters.

Spieth, who won in wire-to-wire fashion in 2015, shot a 6-under par 72 to take the first-round lead at Augusta National Golf Club. Spieth birdied the 18th hole and has a two shot lead over three players, including world No. 1 Jason Day, who is at 4-under through the 15th. Shane Lowry and Danny Lee are also at 4-under and haven’t completed their rounds.

Three back are Spieth’s playing partner Paul Casey and Justin Rose (who shot 69s), and Ian Poulter

Ernie Els got off to a bad start, seven-putting the par-4 first hole for a 10. It was also a rough day for Rickie Fowler, who had an 8-over 80. Fowler had a triple bogey on the 13th and a double bogey on 16.

Tom Watson, playing in his final Masters, shot a 2-over 74.
