Rickie Fowler commits to play in Wells Fargo Championship
Former champion Rickie Fowler, the world’s fifth-ranked player, has committed to play in the Wells Fargo Championship May 5-8 at Quail Hollow Club.
Fowler, who won the 2012 Wells Fargo, is one of four top-10 players who have committed to play so far, joining No. 3 and defending champion Rory McIlroy, No. 7 Adam Scott and No. 8 Dustin Johnson.
Fowler’s victory in 2012 was the first of his career. He didn’t play in the Charlotte tournament in 2014 because of a scheduling conflict.
