Volunteer registration opens for 2017 PGA Championship in Charlotte
The PGA of America said Tuesday that it has launched online registration for a limited number of volunteer spots at the 2017 PGA Championship at Charlotte’s Quail Hollow Club.
Registration is available at www.pgachampionship.com on a first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers need to be at least 22 years old and pay a $193 fee that helps cover uniforms and other costs. Each volunteer gets access to the grounds for the seven days of the event.
Volunteer opportunities include working inside the PGA of America store on the course.
The PGA also has junior volunteer opportunities (ages 16-21) available at www.pgachampionship.com. These tasks include working at various scoreboards and carry no participation cost.
The 2017 PGA Championship, the first golf major held in Charlotte, will take place Aug. 7-13. Registration to buy tickets opened last month, and sign-ups have eclipsed past PGA Championships at this stage.
