NFL picks: Triple Lock? If not now, when?

I’ve lost my way with my NFL picks. If two weeks ago you went to any of websites where victories and losses are accurately recorded, I would have been at or near the top. But I am slumping. I’ll get it back. And soon, I hope, because I’m running out of time.

Last week: 8-8

Season: 98-62

I made my Thanksgiving picks on Twitter. Carolina and Detroit came through and Green Bay did not. They, of course, go on next week’s ledger.

Lock: Picked Carolina (-7) over Washington. The Panthers won 44-16.

Season: 6-8

This week’s picks, with the home team in CAPS:

I’m going with an unprecedented Triple Lock this week. Rare is the prognostication professional who will attempt a Triple Lock, and even rarer is the one who tell you how he did.

Lock No. 2: New England (-2 ½) 33, Denver 17.

Football is more interesting if the Patriots remain undefeated.

Lock No. 3: Minnesota 23, ATLANTA (-1) 21

Vikings were beaten up by Green Bay last week. But this is a good team whose defense reminds me of last season’s Panthers. The Falcons’ defense reminds me of their defense last season.

JACKSONVILLE (-4 ½) 20, San Diego 13

The Chargers struggle when they play on the East Coast. They also struggle in the Midwest and in the West.

The rest:

KANSAS CITY 23, Buffalo 17

HOUSTON 26, New Orleans 23

CINCINNATI 27, St. Louis 19

INDIANAPOLIS 31, Tampa Bay 29

New York Giants 29, WASHINGTON 26

NEW YORK JETS 21, Miami 19

TENNESSEE 29, Oakland 26

Arizona 27, SAN FRANCISCO 16

SEATTLE 29, San Francisco 16

CLEVELAND 23, Baltimore 21
