I’m back, but you always knew I would be
Come on. You knew I’d come crawling back.
I like my job too much to stay away indefinitely. I’ll write one newsletter a week, and this is the first.
I left last December because I had burned out. Retirement initially was terrible. I still appeared on the John Boy & Billy show on Friday mornings. But except for that, I usually sat home and waited for life to come to me. Life doesn’t work that way. So I became more active, which is to say alive.
I wrote two columns for the Observer. One was about Muhammad Ali, an idol when I was young and a man I respected enormously throughout my life. The other was about Jerry Richardson’s 80th birthday. I respect him, too.
Not everything I write in this newsletter will be about people I respect. Promise.
